Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning

Three I Engineering offers complete heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) design services for commercial, institutional, and industrial clients. Utilizing various computer aided design software with vast practical HVAC engineering knowledge, Three I can provide accurate, energy efficient, and cost effective HVAC designs that will meet the client’s application, environmental, and budgetary needs at competitive engineering costs.

Three I Engineering’s HVAC design services are not limited to conventional commercial and industrial comfort heating and cooling systems. Three I also has extensive experience in specialized HVAC applications including cleanroom design, humidification/dehumidification design, HEPA filtration, process heating and cooling, laboratories, medical facilities, and educational facilities design.

Industrial ventilation is an often overlooked area which demands attention in critical areas of large plants and warehouses. Three I Engineering has experience in many facets of industrial ventilation including building pressurization, overall exhaust systems, tempered air makeup systems, dust collection, fume exhaust, and variable flow systems. Items such as exhaust hoods and laminar flow units can be custom designed for the required application.

Three I Engineering can provide detailed construction drawing and specification packages that can be used throughout the bidding and construction phases of a project. In addition, Three I offers construction management/observation services during construction as well as project commissioning at project closeout.

Three I Engineering’s broad and diverse background in the HVAC industry assures that the client will get a competent and professional design team for any application.

Medical Office Building - West
St. Mary’s Medical Center
Evansville, IN

This project involved the design of a 53,000 CFM variable air volume system for a four story medical office building. The system entailed a built-up central station air house utilizing plant chilled water for cooling, a gas-fired hot water boiler system for heating, parallel fan powered VAV boxes with hot water reheat for exterior zones, shutoff VAV boxes for interior zones, and shutoff VAV boxes with reheat for temperature sensitive interior zones.

The building was designed in two phases: the main building shell phase and the tenant lease space phase. Since tenant lease space layouts were unknown during the first phase, system flexibility was of utmost importance, requiring much forethought in possible zoning and load requirements. Because of the unknown tenant information, computer aided design programs were used extensively for cooling/heating load requirements, equipment selection and duct design.

Multi-Purpose and Offender Service Building
Branchville Training Center
Branchville, IN

On this project, Three I Engineering provided the State of Indiana with a complete construction document and specification package. This project involved the design of eighteen ducted single zone air handling systems utilizing chilled water for cooling and hot water for heating serving an 18,000 square foot facility that included a medical area, dental area, counseling area, chapel, library, barber shop, multi-purpose rooms, shower/locker room, and warehouse. The cooling plant was a 50 ton rotary screw chiller with an air cooled condenser while a gas/light oil fired hot water boiler served as the heating plant.
